Service Description

Kids Play is a beginner-friendly class for ages 5–12 that builds confidence, creativity, and foundational acting skills through weekly rehearsals and a complete play. Every enrolled student receives a role, so students learn by actively participating in the cast and performing for an audience. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS What ages can participate? Kids Play is open to students ages 5–12. When does the class meet? Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 1:00–2:30 p.m. Does my child need acting experience? No. The class welcomes first-time and returning performers. What will students learn? Students practice projection, stage directions, character choices, movement, memorization, listening, teamwork, and performing confidently in front of an audience. Is this an acting class or a production? Both. Students receive instruction while rehearsing, then apply those skills in a complete end-of-session play. Does every student receive a role? Yes. Every enrolled student is guaranteed a part. There is no audition required for admission, although directors may use an in-class audition or assessment to assign roles. How long is the session? Registration is organized by production. Fall sessions generally run September–November, and spring sessions generally run February–April. What does tuition include? Tuition is $250 per student and includes weekly rehearsals and participation in the final performance. Payment plans are available upon request; sibling discounts are not currently offered. Are costumes included? No. Families purchase their child’s costume, generally only one or two simple pieces, after receiving instructions from the directors. What is the attendance policy? Consistent attendance is important because every student contributes to the production. Occasional absences can generally be accommodated if the student attends enough rehearsals to learn the role and work safely with the cast. Can students register late? Enrollment may remain open during the first one or two weeks if space is available and casting has not been completed. Where are rehearsals and performances held?
