Service Description

Musical Theater is a full-production class for ages 5–19 combining acting, singing, movement, and storytelling as students rehearse and perform a complete musical. No previous acting, singing, choir, dance, or musical-theater experience is required, and every student receives a part. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS What ages can participate? Musical Theater is open to students ages 5–19. Does my student need previous experience? No. Beginners are welcome; no prior acting, singing, choir, dance, or musical-theater training is required. What will students learn? Students develop acting, vocal performance, movement, character work, musical storytelling, stage presence, memorization, teamwork, and ensemble discipline. Will students perform a complete musical? Yes. Students learn through the production process and conclude the session by performing a complete musical for an audience. Does every student receive a role? Yes. Every student is guaranteed a part. No admission audition is required, although directors may assess each student’s voice, acting, movement, and readiness to assign roles. When does the class meet? The rehearsal schedule is still being determined and will appear with the final registration information. How long is the session? The 2026 Musical Theater session runs from September through November. What does tuition include? Tuition is $275 per student and includes rehearsals and participation in the final musical. Payment plans are available upon request; sibling discounts are not currently offered. Are costumes included? No. Families purchase their student’s costume, generally only one or two simple pieces, after receiving instructions from the directors. Can students take another Centertainment class too? Yes. Students may take Musical Theater alongside the age-appropriate Kids Play or Teens Play class. What is the attendance policy? Regular attendance is important because students learn music, movement, acting, and staging with the cast. Occasional absences can generally be accommodated if the student remains prepared for the production. Can students register late? Enrollment may remain open during the first one or two weeks if space is available and casting has not been completed. Where are rehearsals and performances held?
